Color specific columns i chart based on cell color

  • Hi all!

I'm struggling with an issue. I'm stacking time elements on top of eachother in a chart and I want them individually to have the same color as a correlative cell. It's basically a matter of three colors; red, yellow and red. See attached file.

I've looked through some of the threads here but I could really need some help since I'm not familiar with any coding besides simple "if"-functions.

    Thankful for help!

    Best Regards // Gustav

    Hi!

It amazes me that I got help quickly! Unfortunately, I need some more.

I tried working with the sheet You attached but I still can't get it the way I want. The shading confused me a bit and even if I tried to change the code I failed somehow (probably due to lacking of knowledge). It is basically just three colors that I need represented; yellow, red and green. These colors need to match the conditional formatted cells from the data. It is not necessary that the formatting is in the "value" column, it can just as well be in the "time" or "Ops" columns. I would also like to have both the "Ops"-name and Time in the box which I at the moment only am able to do manually for each block by clicking " add data labels" followed by "format data series".

I attached the file with a better description of the problem.

Extremely thankful for all the help I can get!

    Best Regards // Gustav

All your automation requests can be easily implemented with VBA.
But you have to learn code.
Good book: Excel 2007 VBA, Programmer's Reference.
