Use the built in help to look up the month() and day() functions. If the user entered a valid date, I'd suggest converting it to an actual date rather than a string. Then you can use the month(UserDate) function to get the month number. There is also a simple way to get that as a string (October) rather than the number (10). Then, you should be able to go directly to that sheet.
The day(UserDate) function will give you the day in a number format. You should be able to use that to go directly to whatever row you need. If you have any heading information at the top of the worksheet, just add however many rows you need to the day(UserDate) value and you have the row number.
