I am working on a drawings register that is up to 100 rows deep. The columns run from AA to AZ. The final column, AZ, always contains the current information and is what we instruct the contractor to use.
The columns are filled from left to right as the project progresses. The last filled column could be any column from AA to AY.
I need to be able to propagate the contents of the last datacontaining column to the final column, AZ. At the moment I have to do this by hand and there is a danger of forgetting to do it.
Is there any way of detecting the rightmost column that is not empty? Thank you!

Re: Return Decimal Portion Of Number
Quote from Armando Montes;628799You might add ABS:
=MOD(ABS(C54),1)Yes, indeed, that works fine! Thank you, Armando.
I'm surprised, actually, that Excel doesn't seem to have a function that returns the mantissa. It has all sorts of similar functions (round, trunc, int, mod) but not this one.
If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know!

Re: Return Decimal Portion Of Number
Quote from Armando Montes;604905One more: =MOD(A1,1)
Sorry Armando but this will not work correctly for negative numbers. The only thing I've found that does work is A1TRUNC(A1)
It's easy to run a check:1) Cell C54 contains 10.298
C54TRUNC(C54) yields 0.298
MOD(C54,1) yields 0.2982) Cell C54 contains 10.298
C54TRUNC(C54) yields 0.298
MOD(C54,1) yields 0.702
