Re: Extracting Data From Cells
not to sure exactly what you mean by
Try Data > Text to columns.. :confused:
Hi Ozgrid Community
I wonder if someone could please help with this.
I have a list of names displayed in a column displayed something like this
John Smith
I would like to exact both the first name and surname and put them into seperate cells.
I can use the left and right function. But my issue is that i have 1400 rows of data to exact.
Is there an easier way of doing this?
Kind regards,
Brad

Re: Lookup Data from a separate sheet
Hi I know it's a bit of a mission!!!!!!!!!
I am familiar to a certain degree with those functions, however i'm not sure how to use them in this situation.
Any suggestions? :confused:
Thanks for the reply!
Hi Ozgrid Community.
Please could someone assist me on the following spreadsheet?
I have a spreadsheet that has a resource table, project stage table and an approx 50 different project sheets. (The 50 sheets are duplicated layouts, just different project names)
Based on the data on the first two sheets I would like to populate the individual project sheet.
For example:
1. In the individual project sheet there are 5 stages in each quarter.
2. The project stage table sheet tells you want stage the individual project is in for the relevant quarters.
3. The resource table sheet tells you how many resources are required for that stage.
Based on this information, I would like to populate the individual project sheet with the information.
E.g. If the project is in the 1st stage, it would then go to the resource table and take number of resources allocated for that stage and populate the “relevant” field in the individual project sheet with the correct value.
I've attached the spreadsheet to hopefully better illustrate this.
Could someone please please please help me?
Thank you

Re: Calculate Time difference between two Dates
Thanks Guys so much. It worked. Thanks
Hi Ozgrid Community
I’m stuck on this (probably simple calculation) I have two Rows of data.
Each row contains a unique Name column and separate columns for Date, Hour and Minute.
I would like to calculate the Time difference in Days, Hours and Minutes between the two Dates.
I’m not sure if the way I’ve set it up is the most practical.
I’ll attach the spreadsheet to better explain. If anyone could assist that would be great
Thanks so much!
Hi everyone ,
Please could someone assist me?
i've got a worksheet called "invoice data" in a open workbook, I would like to copy this worksheet and paste it into a workbook called "Daily Sheets". This macro runs daily, so the invoice data" sheet in the "Daily Sheets" workbooks in fact actually gets overwritten daily.
I'm struggling a bit with the code
Kind regards,
Hi there,
i'm really not a code guru.
I'm trying to make a macro that will take the information i've imported from and external source and formatted into a pivot table. based on the pivot table i've asked to create pages based on dates. What i want to do is that those sheets and format each sheet as a newworkbook with the name as the date.
could someone please help me
Thank you so much it means alot.
i've attached the code i've used
Sub ReCreateFiles()
'
' ReCreateFiles Macro
' refreshes pivot and generates pages for each date
Dim curDate
Dim curFolder
Dim curSheet
curFolder = "C:\userfiles\"
'ensures data area is named
Application.Goto reference:="PivotData"
Selection.CurrentRegion.Name = "PivotData"
'refresh the pivot and generate pages
Application.Goto reference:="PivotDateField"
ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable1").PivotCache.Refresh
ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable1").ShowPages PageField:= _
"Date Ticket Created"
'Sheets("Data").Delete
'Sheets("Pivot Main").Delete
'Sheets.Add
'ActiveSheet.Name = "Data"
Range("D1").Select
For Each ws In Worksheets
ws.Activate
Range("D1").Select
curSheet = ActiveSheet.Name
ActiveSheet.Select
If Not curSheet = "Pivot Main" And Not curSheet = "Data" Then
curDate = Format(Range("B1").Value, "dd mmm yyyy")
ActiveSheet.Name = curDate
'ws.Select
newSecond = Second(Now()) + 5
ActiveSheet.Move
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:=curFolder & curDate
ActiveWindow.Close
End If
Next ws
End Sub

Hi there everyone,
I'm a bit stuck on the macro i'm trying to create.
I have a spreadsheet that has multiples ranges. Some values are displayed as negative values. I would like to create a macro that allows me to first select the range/s, (maybe using a input box) I want to change and then display the negative values as positive values.
Would I need to create a separate macro to do the opposite (change the values that are positive to a negative value)?
The other macro I’m trying to create is a similar type. What I would like this macro to do is first select the range I want to change and then divide all the cells in the range by 100000
Could someone please help?
Thank you so much.
Brad
