I get "that name is not valid" when I try the [
thanks
I know its present value
I know what it will be worth in the future
I know the number of years.
compounds once a year
how do I calculate the interest rate I am getting?
tried lots of formulas...

final value=todays value*(1+rate%/1)^(1+years)

Quote from kof1979;604829A1TRUNC(a1)
thanks easy when you know how!
trunc gives just the numbers before the decimal point.
how do i get the numbers after the point.
original number minus trunc seems messy!
I have a range1 with 6 columns of numbers
i wish to compare another range2 which also has 6 columns of numbers.
each row is in order small to large.
i need to compare each row in range2 to see how often it occurred in range
i tried vlookup but it would only work for ll rows!
combining AND with it limited it to 2 rows!
what should I do?
thanks all
