Re: Problem of extra page when loading a template
Ah. But you asked in the Excel forum. There is a Word forum...
Try this instead, then...

Re: Problem of extra page when loading a template
It's likely got "dirty" cells. Try this:
Re: Envelopes Options - Default Settings
Svenja: For a long time, I have suggested just to create an envelope template and use that instead of Word's envelope feature.
Try this:

Or perhaps you just need this:

Re: Automation of importing data from excl to word
Right...
Now... why didn't I get a notif of your post? Guess I gotta check my options again.
Re: Automation of importing data from excl to word
>>>Third, mail merge (I'm sure you know) requires the data in a flat file format.
Doh! I see you said that, Norie.
Re: Automation of importing data from excl to word
Norie:
I hear you...
Here's the deal, and a lot of people want it...
First, they want to direct from Excel. Sometimes, 'cause that's what they're more comfy with.
Second, they're only doing one at a time. Mailmerge goes to one data source...you'd have to switch the data source every time if you're, for instance, saving the Excel file each time. Of course, mail merge is great if you're creating multiple documents each time, but not for just one.
Third, mail merge (I'm sure you know) requires the data in a flat file format. This might not be the desired layout in the Excel file.
I waited a long time to get the "push merge" code 'cause I constantly kept seeing people asking questions where it would be the perfect answer, but all I'd been able to find was have the code hard-written for each bookmark/named range. This code (you prolly noticed) picks up each named range/bookmark without hard coding.
And it'd be nice, right? to be able to just hit Submit from the Excel file and launch a mail merge to it...okay, that might be codeable, but you can't merge to an open Excel file!
It takes more preparation, but not all that much more than a mail merge. It's good for people who want to create quotes from data they calculate in Excel.
Hope that helps.
Re: Automation of importing data from excl to word
rohuu...
Are you doing this one document at a time?
If so, then try this instead:
Re: removing author / owner / creator details
I can't believe I'm answering this. LOL.
Try this... tho it's not specific to what you want, it may get you there.

Re: Saving .xls to tab delimited text
Please describe EXACTLY how you are "deleting the material"
If you are not deleting the entire rows/columns, try that. Otherwise, Excel could be seeing "dirty" cells.
Re: Looking for a way to return the first day of
This is the Word forum. Is this a Word question?
Re: Automated Conversion of txt to PDF
Now that you saved it...
Can you print it to PDF manually (and successfully)?
Re: Automated Conversion of txt to PDF
I almost want to say that you ought to be saving the file as an Excel file first. Perhaps the PDF writer just doesn't "see" it while it's still a TXT file.
Re: Delete Menubar
Does it happen on other machines too?
Re: Automated Conversion of txt to PDF
Don't use the convert to PDF (if you ask me).
Instead, use the File-Print and choose PDFwriter.
Re: Cell formula to move cursor when 2 cells equal
Great. Whose post are you responding to, Mike?
rbrhodes or philby?
Re: Cell formula to move cursor when 2 cells equal
Hi, Mike. Gee, your question looks familiar. But at least I have an idea what you want this time. Why not skip the whole "jump to" idea and make yourself a form? Lock all the cells you're NOT using. Then when you hit tab, it jumps to the cells you ARE using.
Here's some info for you:
Re: Printing a hidden worksheet
Guys... feel free to edit my posts any time you like.
And I'll apologize in advance for any future times I forget.
(LOL...I'm such a huge coder, you know? ROFL!!)
Re: Printing a hidden worksheet
I hear you.
So many other forums don't do anything special to the code that I forget you've got the VBA tags here, too.
And it's a huge pain in the arse.
Sorry, Jack. But good to see you!
Re: Count Blank on Ranges
Can you possibly load your worksheet, or even a sample of it?
