    >>> There are up to 6 people who could be anyone.
    You clearly stated 6, now it all sorts, In fact Jack has been coding on off all day for You in different versions and now Jack has had enough. I can help no longer, Jack can help others that do not edit, change and say thank Yous for my efforts. After all it is free. You have enough code from me maybe someone else can assist You more. Jack has done his best

    Your requirements change in every post!!

    God luck

    Re: Automatic Signoff

    Agreed but if its only one of any know six edit my code, and the job should be done.

    Now You want the inputs to be scrolling down in colum a - what if tehre are more opens that 6, do we fill rows 7 ond 8 etc

    Re: Automatic Signoff

    OK I will try to reCode with a bit of guess work

    Try :

    Re: Automatic Signoff

    Now Jack is lost and confused, look at Jacks first example
    UserName_SIMPLE_WAY

    That procedure uses the same application.username Your code above uses, Jacks lost. When Jack tested every code Jack has posted MY real name was retruned in full. This is what Your questions asked for so I posted my codes for You and a few examples so You can choose what best for You. Jack does not see where we have gone wrong here?

    Re: Automatic Signoff

    You can only call up the userid from Windows ie via Windows Users Profile, not someones elses. Jacks code doses this, deploy teh result into teh cells required

    You shold not be sharing WorkStations in session else how will it know? The Userid is defined.

    Re: Overflow Error

    This code is a lot fuller and mayeb will help You, of cause test on a new mock EXcel WorkBook first just in case and run the codes. Notice and have chosen A1 and A2 cells You might need to edit that bit.

    Copy and paste Jacks codes into a standard module and run

    Re: Automatic Signoff

    Open a new Excel WorkBook, not You project WorkBook. This so we can test and play
    Now open a new standad module in this WorkBook
    Copy / Paste all my codes:
    In sheet one choose and cell ie A1
    Paste the formula

    Quote

    =UserName_SIMPLE_WAY()

    Press enter, the name will appear in that cell, this is the same for each of the functions I Have given. Just a few different ways You can code for Your question, Jack offered You a choice

    Re: Automatic Signoff

    Nothing like recycling old codes - now You can call the name You require and deploy it as You want to

    Code
    ' jiuk - do not edit the API (Application Programmers Interface) function call below
    Declare Function apiGetUserName Lib "advapi32.dll" Alias "GetUserNameA" ( _
        ByVal lpBuffer As String, _
        nSize As Long _
        ) As Long
    '// jiuk --

    Another way is to simply use Enviroment Variables like: Now again Yoiu can use the function inside a procedure or just can and write it as required.

    Code
    Public Function myGET_Environ_USER_NAME()
    ' written by: Jack in the UK
    ' Our WEB Site - www.excel-it.com
    Dim vResult As Variant
    vResult = Environ("username")
    myGET_Environ_USER_NAME = vResult
    Exit Function
    End Function

    Thanks all for replying!!!!!!!!!!
    1. Mr. Jack and RoyUK, Could you please guide me how you made that sample? if possible.
    2. Mr. shg, thanks much for the help, I will try to go through that...

    Not on OzGrid no. We have given You the work, additions are being added all the time to my web site and forum, this is one area. Jack does not think it is fair to tred on Daves toes or OzGrid site or forum i.e. Jack taking over. I would suggest asking a question of this nature to all OzGrids members and see what the answers are.

    Re: Find Asterisks

    Using CTRL+F
    The tilde ~ before the wildcard character to search on i.e. you want to find "*" without "s the use:
    ~* in the "Find What" box
